North City Business Centre (NCBC) met today with Arlene Foster to discuss business and enterprise development issues in North Belfast and to highlight key policy issues impacting upon the development and sustainability of micro and small businesses in the area.

David Williamson, Chair of North City and Dave Murphy, CEO met with Mrs Foster and the meeting provided an opportunity to brief her on North City’s current capital development plans as well as our enterprise development programmes and the steps the organisation is taking to support job creation and regeneration activities in North Belfast.

Dave Murphy, CEO of North City, said,  “ The meeting with Mrs Foster provided a great opportunity for us to appraise her of the need for greater investment in North Belfast to support business and economic development. As we know, micro and small businesses represent 99% of our local economy and a renewed regional economic development strategy needs to place indigenous entrepreneurial and enterprise activity at the heart of this strategy.”

“The discussion also enabled North City to highlight the range of activities the organisation is undertaking to support and promote enterprise, business development and survival and the regeneration benefits that accrue in local communities as a result of our activities,” he said.
