Placement – A positive impact on your future
Studies have shown that students and graduates with relevant work experience are highly regarded by today’s employers.
Our objective is to facilitate Belfast Met students in getting involved in a work partnership throughout their time of study at the College.
Partnerships with industry
The following are examples of how working partnerships, in conjunction with studying at the College, will work for you:
Course-specific placements
These will be closely related to your study objectives. You can share your ideas with companies – you have a lot to contribute – and strive towards achieving the best that you can. These placements will last for anything from 4 weeks to 6 months. You could also work during the summer on a useful project.
Short – term project work
An opportunity for you to carry-out a live project for a company that has a genuine business requirement. Through participating, you will see how you can make a valuable contribution to an organisation and in turn how this contributes to your personal development.
All of these activities are designed to provide career direction, enhance personal skills and competencies, develop your CV and provide a mechanism for introduction to potential employers.
Details on future programmes will be made available through your academic department, the Belfast Met website and notice boards.
